The Beneteau 343 is constructed with a solid fiberglass hull, with a fiberglass and balsa cored deck that is thru bolted and bonded. It features a 5" shallow draft cast iron bulb keel fixed with bolts and stainless steel backing plates.
The roomy cockpit with wrap around cockpit seating can easily fit 6 for a sail. The helm has a pivoting wheel that can be turned to port when not in use to make additional room. The helm seat lifts to permit easy access to the swim platform and the freshwater cockpit shower. To starboard, there's a large lazarette with fantastic storage for boat gear, fenders and large things; to port, a lazarette that's shallow enough to easily grab and extra winch or dock line without too much of a reach. All lines are lead aft to the cockpit and the jib winches are placed within easy reach of the helm.
