Overview
Don't let her size or age fool you! This Tartan Piper 28 is truly one of the nicest boats I've come across. If you're looking for a fun daysailer that doesn't sacrifice performance or style, call now because this is THE BOAT!
A'bientot has seen very little use in her lifetime, which is probably why she looks like a boat a quarter of her age! It was a fresh water boat based on Lake Erie from 1994 to 2022, where it was winter stored inside with the mast down. The previous owner developed health issues which prevented him from using the boat, so it sat in indoor storage from 2012 until he finally sold it to the current owner in 2022. After arriving in the Chesapeake, the current owner did many thoughtful improvements including new canvas, electronics, refrigeration and even added air conditioning! She is a turn-key boat, ready to continue delighting sailing enthusiasts for decades to come.
This Tim Jackett design is a very rare boat and one of the sweetest sailing boats you will find. In keeping with the Tartan standard, it's beautifully appointed below and very comfortable for day sailing and overnights. It's a simple and fun boat to sail and it points to wind like a dream!

Interior
The interior of the Tartan Piper 28 feels wide and open due to the nearly 10' beam and great 6' head room. It is stunning how big it feels down below for the size, especially when compared to similar models. Forward is a private cabin with a v-berth, lockers and a hanging locker. A large overhead hatch provides great light and ventilation. Inside the cabin is the enclosed head, with a toilet, sink and stand up shower.
The salon has a long settee to starboard with a beautiful teak dining table that can be stored on the forward bulkhead allowing more room. This settee can be converted into a double berth if needed. You'll find good storage in the cabinets above and behind the seat backs. To port is a proper nav station with a large chart table and captains chair. Just aft is the cozy but nicely equipped galley complete with a 2 burner stove and proper refrigeration. To starboard is an open quarter berth. The interior has been beautifully and thoughtfully modernized, including LED lighting and a new 12,000 BTU AC unit to keep you cool on those hot summer nights.
