Brainchild of Bob Berg & Bob Perry, the Baba is a classic bluewater boat. Built in Taiwan by the renowned Ta-Shing Yacht Building Co.
From Bob Perry, who also designed the Valiant 40: “The Baba 40 is one of my all time favorite designs. It is superbly well balanced and goes upwind in a breeze like a freight train…I have often thought that the layout on the Baba 40 was one of the very best I have ever drawn. That's probably due to Bob Berg's influences.”
A treat for ocean cruising, she is seakindly & stable with a cutter rig, canoe stern, full keel, and heavy displacement.
The current owner, a retired boat mechanic, did a pre-covid refit for East Coast & Caribbean cruising. Short-handed set up & original engine has been well maintained.
